You might notice that yours truly has an article published in this month's issue of Strength plus magazine. Definitely, I wrote the article because I believe in the magazine.
I like www.strengthplusmagazine.com because it avoids the trap of publishing only stereotypically acceptable weightlifting articles. There is a good mix of articles. For example, some articles provide practical lifting advice-- ie why and when to do certain exercises, not just statistical DOE's on leg press 1 rep max that you see in strength conditioning journals, nor bench press workouts you see in Muscle and Fitness type magazines. Additionally, there are in depth athlete features, color photos of lifters, timely meet results, and articles on olympic weightlifting culture.
With respect to articles on weightlifting culture, this is the first lifting magazine I ever saw that wanted to write an article on mom's and lifting-- and tackle social norms while doing it! In other words, the value the magazine delivers is fresh, unphased content.
Other pluses: You can, conveniently, buy a digital copy online as well as a paper copy to be mailed later. In other words, Strength plus magazine definitely makes a great last minute gift for your gym, yourself, or person you're trying to coax into weightlifting.
Original content on Olympic weightlifting. Spreading high fidelity, scientifically based knowledge and ideas on weightlifting. Protecting you from internet lore. Democratizing the ability for all weightlifters to be their absolute best. Freedom and weightlifting for all.

Oh my gosh, Gwen! Thank you so much for this post. And thank you for your article in the magazine. Together, I hope we can make a positive change within the weightlifting community, not only in the United States but also around the world. Have a very merry holiday season! - Rachel Crass, Editor, Strength+ magazine
Agreed! We can defintely make a positive change in Olympic lifting-- yes, around the world and in the USA. I put a little more focus on the USA improvement as some US lifters and coaches didn't always get why we travel to study other training systems, while Ivan and I both competed for the USA. The best way to learn is to go and study and see it firsthand from the industry standard (vs wallowing in heresay and speculation).
